Introduction

Wotter is a hydration and drink-tracking app designed to make drinking water feel more rewarding. Built and launched with a friend, the product combines simple tracking tools with an upgradeable character that grows alongside the user’s progress. Playful illustrations, Rive animations, and a clean interface turn a repetitive health habit into an engaging daily experience.

Rive Character & Motion

I used Rive to bring Wotter’s personality into the product through responsive character animations, onboarding moments, and lightweight interaction feedback. I designed the illustration system and built the animations to feel playful without slowing down the experience, then worked closely with development to implement them across the app from prototype through App Store release.

App Design

I designed the Wotter app around fast logging, clear progress, and lightweight motivation. A minimal interface keeps daily tracking simple, while reminders, drink history, and visible goals help users stay consistent. The upgradeable Wotter character adds a sense of progression, rewarding healthier habits without making the experience feel demanding, clinical, or overly gamified.

Website Design

I designed the Wotter website to explain the product quickly and lead users towards the App Store. A simple landing-page structure keeps the app, character, and core benefits at the centre of the story. Bright illustrations, spacious layouts, and playful motion extend the app’s personality while preserving the same clean, approachable visual language.

Illustration Design

I created Wotter as a flexible character system that could evolve with the user’s hydration progress. The illustrations were drawn in Adobe Illustrator, using simple forms and expressive details to keep the character friendly and recognisable at small sizes. Rive animations brought Wotter to life across key moments, adding delight, feedback, and personality throughout the experience.
